Criminal acts are frowned upon everywhere but at times, criminals relocate and start a new life completely different from their convicted lives. They change their names, launder their wealth and live among unassuming people. On this list, we have compiled top 3 convicted felons that were repatriated back to Nigeria from the diaspora and banned from re-entering the country where their individual crimes were committed. - Jason Onabowale

Lanre Jason Onabowale, the son of Charis Onabowale respected socialite and owner of popular eatery Mama Cass, who was arrested and incarcerated in a London jail on serial rape charges in 2006, is now said to be maintaining a discreet profile in Abuja. Aside his prison sentence, his name was put on the sex offenders list for life. Onabowale was convicted for five rape charges and one sexual assault in 2006. Prosecutors established that Onabowale operated under different aliases in perpetrating his crime against women. According to Foreign tabloid The Sun, at the time of his conviction: ‘His first victim was a 25-year-old boutique manager who woke at a hotel to find him having sex with her. In 2004, he raped a 26-year-old in a London flat. Police took no action in either case. Until Onabowale left London to start a management course at Hull University. There he raped two women. One aged 20 the other 19’. He was said to be using the alias ‘Jason Blayde’ at a point in time. He was deported to Nigeria in 2011 after serving 5 years out of his 18 years sentence in London jail.
- Okwudili Umenyiora

Okwudili was convicted in the USA for financial crimes, served time in jail and was repartriate to Nigeria where he assumed a new life and founded Dilly motors and Manny entertainment. Most recently, Dilly was arrested for the attempted murder of Nigerian singer, Runtown. According to reports, Dilly who is the former boss of the singer was apprehended at the early hours of Friday, April 20, 2018, while he was at the gym. It was gathered that he was whisked away by security operatives to Alagbon police station to write his statement after allegedly threatening the singer with a gun. Dilly is married to Fifi Dilly and they live together with children in affluent Lagos.
- Babalola Falemi also known as Sauce Kid
Nigerian rapper, Babalola Falemi, popularly known as Sauce Kid, spent two years in an American prison for stealing $15,388. Law enforcement agents caught up with him as he wanted to board a flight at Boise Airport in Idaho, United States of America. Sauce Kid was said to have obtained stolen bank card numbers and identified information from their owners. He then encoded the account numbers onto blank plastic cards. Authorities said that after using an automated system to change account PINs, he was able to withdraw cash from bank ATMs and bought merchandise from stores between July 23 and 26, 2016. All of the transactions took place at Boise ATMs owned by Idaho Central Credit Union and at Albertsons stores in Meridian, according to court documents.

Police said that as at the time of his arrest, Sauce Kid was caught with a card-encoding device and about $6,000 cash. He was initially charged with conspiracy to commit bank fraud, eight counts each of bank fraud and aggravated identity theft, and possession of 15 or more fraudulent bank cards. He pleaded guilty to one of the counts of aggravated identity theft.
