Afghanistan Quake Triggers Global Outpouring of Sympathy and Aid

A devastating 6.0-magnitude earthquake has struck Afghanistan’s eastern provinces of Kunar and Nangarhar, killing more than 800 people and injuring thousands. Entire villages were flattened, with landslides isolating mountain communities and hampering rescue operations.

Governments and institutions worldwide have extended condolences and pledged assistance. The United States expressed solidarity, while Germany and Switzerland described the tragedy as “heartbreaking,” promising emergency relief.
