October 20th, 2021 marks the first anniversary and memorial of the global End SARS protests and the ending toll gate massacre. 2020 was a tough year for many Nigerians. We reluctantly celebrated Nigeria’s 60th independence on October 1st and a few weeks later on October 20th, we witnessed the massacre of innocent Nigerians at the Lekki Toll Gate. #Endsars was the cry of millions of citizens to stop the brutality, menace, killings and insensitivities of the group called SARS led by the Inspector General of Police and the Government of Nigeria.
As we move into 2022, we clamour for peace, unity and constant progress. We must move forward in ways that we will continue to do our best and be our best. We must help as many of our brothers and sisters as we humanly can. We are solidly in a era that mandates doing good, doing better, doing your very best as much as possible. 2023, Nigeria deserves better leaders. We will never forget the EndSARS victims. We will remember them annually. Endsars memorial is a must.
