Isabel Dos Santos is the daughter of former Angolan President José Eduardo dos Santos who served as president of the country for 38 years from 1979-2017, making him the second-longest-serving president in Africa, before he finally handed over the office in 2017. During her father’s prolonged tenure, Isabel Dos Santos acquired four financially major contracts among several other contracts, which were worth over US $22 billion, leading to her rise as, Africa’s richest woman.

However, since her father vacated the seat of power, the accumulated wealth and status of Isabel Dos Santos as Africa’s richest woman seems to be under threat, as General João Lourenço the current Angolan president has annulled the four blatant contracts. The former first daughter, Isabel Dos Santos, is said to be in disarray of the president’s action and threatening to sue the Angolan state which seems to not take her seriously. With this development, her fortune seems to be on the verge of tumbling down.

Ironically the current president who was single-handedly chosen by the former president to be his replacement is the one taking all measures to take down the family fortune tied with the state including that of Isabel Dos Santos, who built her massive wealth through her father’s presidential decrees over the past 38 years.
