Alex Badeh was Nigeria’s former Chief of Defense Staff. He was a 4 star flag officer of Nigerian Airforce. He was based in Nassarawa state and commuted often between Adamawa where he was born, Nassarawa and Abuja. Alex Badeh owned a farm. He was assassinated after a trip to his farm on December 18th, 2018. Alex Badeh lived his best years under Goodluck Jonathan’s tenure as President of Nigeria. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) began interrogating Alex Badeh after Muhammadu Buhari assumed power in 2015.
Alex Badeh passed away a month before his 62nd birthday. Badeh was assassinated along Abuja-Keffi road in Nassarawa State. He was gunned down on his way home from his farm with a friend and a driver. The driver was significantly injured and the friend kidnapped. According to locals in the area, armed robbers frequently rob that road sometimes as often as 3 times daily. This case came to limelight because Alex Badeh is a notable person.

President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari condemned the act as “very sad”. Reno Omokri, Founder of “Build Up Nigeria” politicized the occurrence by posting on Twitter: “Ex-chief of Defense Staff, Alex Badeh, strong critic of the @MBuhari government, was just assassinated along Abuja-Keffi Rd. This is a man who knew a lot about the inner workings of this government. His death must be investigated. It is too convenient. You may be next.” The leader left behind a spouse and children, Tony Badeh and Kam Badeh.
