49 year-old Tanzanian influential media personality, Ruge Mutahaba, died yesterday evening, Tuesday 26th February 2019 at a South African hospital due to kidney complications. He had been admitted there for several weeks before he finally gave up the ghost yesterday. News of his death has been sending shock waves to the entire nation ever since it was announced because he was a nationally recognized mentor and motivational speaker.

Ruge was the director of strategy and programmes development at Clouds Media Group. It was from here that he made a national mark and stepped into the limelight as a shrewd media manager and business man.

A cross section of leaders across the nation were shocked and engulfed by the grief of his death. The President of Tanzania, John Magufuli, his predecessor, Jakaya Kikwete, cabinet members, members of the Parliament and a large number of other opinion shapers were among those who mourned the demise of Tanzania’s media guru.

Magufuli and Kikwete used their twitter handles to sympathise with the deceased’s family who they knew personally. They urged them to be strong during this trying period. Dr John Magufuli who referred to Ruge as “my son” declared that he was a true patriot that had touched the lives of a whole lot of Tanzanian youths.
