Kayode Fayemi is one of the most notable names in Nigeria’s Ekiti State politics. He has been a politician in Nigeria for almost 2 decades. In 2018, Kayode Fayemi became the Governor of Ekiti State; a position he previously held from 2010-2014, loosing to recent past governor, Ayodele Fayose. During the years 2015-2018, Kayode Fayemi served as Nigeria’s Minister of Solid Minerals Development under President Muhammadu Buhari. He left that position to become Governor of Ekiti State. Ekiti State over the past decade has been trampled upon with unfair poverty and massive corruption. The recent past governor, Ayodele Fayose, is currently under Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Interrogation for corruption charges. The world and most especially the people of poverty-torn Ekiti State, Are looking on to Kayode Fayemi to be the most capable governor the state has ever had. Kayode Fayemi must record significant achievements after his tenure ends in 2022 and not simply make himself richer as we have seen happen with other Nigerian politicians.
