Lanre Jason Onabowale, the son of Charis Onabowale respected socialite and owner of popular eatery Mama Cass, who was arrested and incarcerated in a London jail on serial rape charges in 2006, is now said to be maintaining a more discreet profile after his release from prison in 2011, for the 18 years sentence of which he served only 5 years.Aside his prison sentence, his name was put on the sex offenders list for life. Onabowale was convicted for five rape charges and one sexual assault in 2006. Prosecutors established that Onabowale operated under different aliases in perpetrating his crime against women. According to Foreign tabloid The Sun, at the time of his conviction: ‘His first victim was a 25-year-old boutique manager who woke at a hotel to find him having sex with her. In 2004, he raped a 26-year-old in a London flat. Police took no action in either case. Popularly known back then by his alias, Blayde, he left London to start a management course at Hull University. While there, he raped two other women. One aged 20 the other 19. jason was said to be using the alias ‘Jason Blayde’ at a point in time to cover his tracks. Sources based in London noted that he has been spotted here and there in Abuja since his release. He owned a nightclub called Nouveau and remained a frequent face in the Abuja nightlife scene up until 2014 thereabout. Recently, he has relocated and settled a free man in Lagos State, Nigeria.
