Failed Deal: Intercontinental Hotels Group Officially Terminates Brief Business Chapter In Lagos

News broke out last week regarding Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG) Lagos Nigeria standing on the verge of losing their license to use the IHG brand name, and lagging in significant troubles inclusive of their inability to pay salaries and their inability to refund customers. Intercontinental Hotel Lagos is owing several companies and individuals. IHG Lagos has owed Dressmeoutlet.com a refund since December 11th, 2017 with promises to pay, yet to be paid. Intercontinental Hotel Lagos was 100% owned by Milan Group Nigeria through debt financing of over $100 million. Current operations are being managed by George Koumendakos and the failing company is being kept afloat through a financial takeover by Skye Bank Nigeria, managed by receiver Kunle Ogunba.

On Thursday, January 18th, 2018, IHG Lagos sent an email indicating their company would be known as Continental Lagos moving forward. This follows the threat from the Global IHG indicating that they would officially pull-out of IHG Lagos by January 18th, 2018 as the company has failed to deliver on its financial obligations to the parent company.
