Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is one of Nigeria’s foremost political leader and 2 term former governor of Lagos State.

His political career began when he led Primrose Group, a political action organization pushing for fundamental changes in the politics of Lagos State. Also, he was a founding member of the now defunct Social Democratic Party (SDP).

In 1992, he was elected as the senator of Nigeria to represent Lagos West Senatorial District. At the National Assembly, he distinguished himself as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Finance, Appropriation and Currency.

Sequel to the annulment of June 12 1993 Presidential Election and militarization of the Nigerian Politics, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu became a founding member of the famous pro-democracy group, National Democratic Coalition (NADECO) which, for several years, engaged the military for the very soul of Nigeria.

Although he suffered many arrest and detentions, harassment and threats to his life forcing him to flee the country, he joined NADECO abroad to continue advocating for restoration of democratic governance and the rule in the country.

In 1999, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu began his two-term public service as an elected Governor of Lagos State on the platform of the Alliance for Democracy (AD).

He received several awards for his performance as the Governor of Lagos State (1999-2007) including Best Governor in Nigeria for Y2000 by the Nigerian-Belgian Chamber of Commerce; Y2002 Best Practices Prize in improving the living environment, awarded by the Federal Ministry of Works and the UN Habitat Group, among others.

He is also the recipient of numerous other chieftaincy titles and a patron of many professional and social organizations.

What Is Asiwaju Tinubu’s Real Age?

In spite of all his achievements in politics, the Chicago State University alumnus age remains an issue, which surged during his birthday celebrations in April, 2021. Nigerians noticed a sudden change in the official age of the APC national leader on his Wikipedia page.

Tinubu’s age went from 79 to 69 as he celebrated his 69th year old birthday. Nigerians were torn between which of the ages were his in actuality.

It is stated that he was born in April 1952. However what is confusing in the age issue is that his daughter who is the Iyaloja of Lagos, Folashade Tinubu-Ojo is 60 years, according to Wikkipedia, she was born in 1961.

If this is anything to go by, it means Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is nine years older than his daughter, which is unbelievable.
