Sundays in Lagos are mostly traffic-free, fun-filled and stress-free. On Sunday, December 10th, 2018, Zenith Bank of Nigeria blocked off all routes to and through the popular Ajose Adeogun Street. Ajose Adeogun Street is one of the busiest streets in commercial Victoria Island, Lagos. Ajose Adeogun sites Zenith Bank’s Headquarters, VCP Hotel, Dominos Pizza, Doculand, Aramex, Healthplus, Churches, Eateries and several other businesses. Zenith Bank was hosting the 2018 Zenith Youth Parade.

According to a member of the City of David Oniru Church who got stuck in the traffic and sent an email to Olatorera.com News, “Zenith Bank has been lauded many times for developing and beautifying Ajose Adeogun road but they must desist from laying absolute ownership to a public road in ways that would negatively affect travelers and residents.” 

The traffic mayhem lasted for over 8 hours causing severe unnecessary stress in the hot sun for drivers on a usually stress-free Sunday. Peter Amangbo who is the current Managing Director of Zenith Bank, was in attendance at the colorful event.
