The Federal Government of Nigeria may declare March 8th 2019 a public holiday across the nation. This, the government has said is necessary to ensure unhindered operations during the March 9th 2019 state elections. The 2019 state governorship and state national assembly elections will resume as early as 8am on Saturday, March 9th, 2019.
Citizens are urged to stay close to home on Friday in preparation for the elections on Saturday. Citizens should also expect increased road traffic on Thursday March 8th as workers disperse to their various locations.
