In Sudan’s Darfur region, the army‑held city of Al‑Fashir remains under siege, with hunger spreading through hundreds of thousands of residents. Local burial grounds are filling daily, pointing to escalating mortality linked to food shortages, cholera and conflict. Aid delivery is blocked, and displacement is increasing sharply. Regional sources report that few safe passages remain open for displaced populations or medical support. The crisis deepens sense of collapse in Darfur humanitarian conditions.
