Dorothy Udeme Ufot is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, a successful arbitrator and a well celebrated professional. She is also the founding partner of the leading Nigerian firm Dorothy Ufot and Co. established in 1994, where she heads the international arbitration and litigation department of the firm.

Dorothy specialises in international arbitration, litigation and other forms of dispute resolution including investment treaty arbitration, enforcement of foreign arbitral Awards, investment consulting, corporate and commercial law.
Dorothy holds a B.Sc degree in Political Science from the University of Calabar, however, her desire and determination to become a lawyer made her return to school to study law against peoples views about it.
In 1983, she graduated with an LLB from the University of Lagos and LLM in 1996 from the same institution. Also, she was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1989 and 20 years after she was elevated to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria in recognition of her vast work in commercial litigation.
Dorothy sits on the board of many reputable companies locally and internationally including Dangote Cement Nigeria, Nigeria Bar Association Women Forum and others. She is listed in the International Who’s Who of Commercial Arbitration Lawyers recognised as leaders in the field of international commercial arbitration as well as the ‘New List- Arbitrators of African Descent’.
In 2020, she won the prestigious award of African Arbitrator of the Year.
