At a book launch in Lagos yesterday, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, represented by Prof. Maxwell Gidado emphasized that: “Restructuring is not a sectional thing or a sectional demand, and it will not only benefit some sections of the country and hurt others. It will benefit the whole country.”
Not leaving out the struggle over oil resources among geopolitical zones, the former Vice President said: “Our current structure, which is based on oil rent is vulnerable because oil has probably reached its peak as the chief energy source of the world economy.”
He further spoke about how corruption is in the way of good leadership in Nigeria, and this is fostered by the current structure in the economy.
