Meng Wanzhou is the Chief Financial Officer of Chinese Company, Huawei. In December 2018, Meng Wanzhou was arrested and detained in Canada. At the time of her arrest, it was widely unknown what crime(s) she committed. The Chinese Government vowed revenge if Meng Wanzhou was not immediately released. Canadian Government later revealed that Meng Wanzhou was facing extradition to the USA. Meng Wanzhou is accused of leading Huawe’s evasion of sanctions against Iran. 

On December 10th, 2018, Meng Wanzhou was allowed to post bail of $7.5 million. She still remains under house arrest in Canada until her case is decided upon in Canada. Donald Trump, President of the United States indicated same day, that he would gladly interfere in Meng Wanzhou’s case if it will help US-China relations.

  • Donald Trump is interfering with the ongoing court system whereby juries/court officials should be trusted to do their jobs ethically.
