What a time to be a Lagosian! The Lagos state government under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is nothing short of revolutionary. Dauntless, in the face of what has been described as the most significant threat to population, health, political and economic stability in a generation. Impressively, Gov. Babjide Sanwo-Olu is going above and beyond to ensure the safety and welfare of Lagosians. This is proven through his efforts towards establishing new levels of leadership excellence, being true to the state’s slogan. No wonder, The Federal Government was quick to remit N10 billion to the LASG crusade; proving that next to excellence is the appreciation of it. In the same manner of appreciation, here are 5 impressive ways Gov. Sanwo-Olu is Tackling the pandemic in Lagos:

Lagos Lockdown:
As a responsible government, actions were firstly taken to protect Lagosians from physical and other potential threats. Schools, airports, offices, markets and religious gatherings were shut down to curtail the spread of the virus. The LASG’s timely actions have proved to be an advantage in the fight against the coronavirus.
Economic Stimulus Package:
Recently, the LASG launched an economic stimulus package to help our residents cushion the effects of the #StayAtHome directive to stop the spread of #COVID19. This first stage is targeting 200,000 households at an estimation of 6 people per household.
State-wide fumigation:
To ensure a safe environment safe and curtail the contagion of #COVID19, the state government is deploying disinfectant equipment to fumigate the entire state. These fumigation machines are deployed to every part of the metropolis for sterilization of public spaces & surfaces. This affirms Gov. Sanwo-Olu’s aggressiveness in his efforts to combat the novel Coronavirus in the State.
Advocacy:
The LASG COVID-19 advocacy team has been empowered with more vehicles to aid information dissemination to all parts of our state. This is a bid to fight the spell of ignorance and providing accurate information across the state.
Radio Lessons Programs for SS3 Students:
Education is a core priority for Gov. Sanwo-Olu as expressed in the LASG THEMES mission. With wards staying at home to observe social distancing, the state ministry of education in partnership with radio and TV broadcasters has made provision for tutorial sessions in line with ensuring current set of SS3 pupils excel at their federal exams.
Honourable mention:
Along with the fight against the novel coronavirus, the Lagos State is simultaneously looking out for the welfare of Lagosians in other regards. Commendably, the state government has been working tirelessly to help the victims of the Abule Ado disaster get their lives back on track. With their efforts attracting donations from the Federal Government to the tune of N200m. Also, ZenithBank and DangoteGroup that donated N100m each.
Even more remarkable is the Lagos State government’s partnership with Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) in setting up a new isolation and treatment centre at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena (formerly Onikan Stadium) This comes as an additional measure to handle the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
