Who Is Esther Utjiua Muinjangue?

Esther Utijua Muinjangue is a Namibian politician and the president of National Unity Democratic Organization party (NUDO).

She is the first woman to lead a political movement in Namibia and the first female presidential candidate. She was appointed in the country as Deputy Minister of Health and Social Services in March 2020 by Namibian president Hage Geingbob.

57-year-old Esther Muinjangue gained international prominence when she chaired the Overhererro Genocife Foundation, She’s been instrumental in bringing the genocide and reparations issue to the Namibian public sphere.

Muinjangue is a lecturer at the University of Namibia. She holds a Bachor and Master in Social Work from UNAM and University of Pretoria.
