Who’s Who in Lebanon’s New Government?

Following about 13 month power vaccum that began shortly after the August 2020 Beirut Port blast, a new government has been formed in Lebanon.

The new government headed by Prime Najib Mikati, a billionaire who has served as premier, is made up of 24 ministers. The cabinet of ministers will preside over the nation’s economic depression which the World Bank considers one of the world’s worst, since the mid 19th century, surge of coronavirus cases and provision of power, gas and food for its citizen.

Below is the breakdown of who’s who in Mikati’s third government :

Prime Minister- Najib Mikati.

Deputy Prime Minister- Saadeh al- Shami.

Foreign Minister- Abdallah Bou Habib.

Defence Minister- Maurice Slim.

Finance Minister- Youssef Khali.

Interior Minister- Bassam Mawlawi.

Health Minister- Firass Abiad.

Energy Minister- Walid Fayad.

Justice Minister- Henri Khoury.

Economy Minister- Amin Salam.

Public Works Minister- Ali Hamie.

Social Affairs Minister- Hector Hajjar.
