Ayodele Oke is former Nigeria’s Ambassador to the Commonwealth Secretariat in London. On November 7 2013, he was appointed the Director general of Nigeria’s National Intelligence Agency (NIA) by then President Goodluck Jonathan.

On October 30 2017, Oke was dismissed by President Mohammadu Buhari, after the anti-corruption officers from the EFCC recovered the sum of 13billion naira from Flat 7B, Osborne Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos which was linked to Ambassador Ayodele and his Wife, Folashade. The Okes’ are being charged for Money Laundering, however, the operatives of the anti-graft agency went to the known address of the defendants after failure to appear in court for two consecutive time but they were nowhere to be found.

Meanwhile, there have been speculations that Oke and his wife may have fled the country. Nevertheless, the Federal court has placed an arrest warrant on Ambassador Ayodele and his wife.
