Swiss Golden Company Limited is an online Ponzi scheme headquartered in Hong Kong which was discovered through investigation to be designed to defraud innocent victims of their money, through its purported business expertise in the buying and selling of Gold Bars. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Nigeria recovered a total of N216,402,565.05 early this year collected by the Ponzi Scheme after defrauding over seven thousand Nigerians.

The recovery was made following a petition the Commission received from thousands of complainants who alleged that they made investments in Swiss Golden which advertised online as an online investment company that deals with buying and selling of Gold Bars. The petitioner further alleged that after investing over a billion naira into the business, the company refused to pay them any dividend or pay them back their capital. It was subsequently discovered that Swiss Golden Company Limited which defrauded over seven thousand Nigerians gained over N3,000,000,000 (Three Billion Naira). The EFCC continues to take action to recover most of the money acquired through the fraudulent investment and bring the named suspects known to be Maxin Lobaty a Russian national and 2 other Nigerians to justice. After the MMM saga, Nigerians are still recovering from the huge loss and must beware of these emerging online Ponzi schemes.
