BREAKING: What Killed Isa Funtua And How Will His Demise Affect The Nation?

Isa Funtua, aged 78, was one of the most powerful men under President Muhammadu Buhari’s presidency among the likes of Mamman Daura. Isa Funtua was pronounced dead on the 20th of July, 2020. It is alleged that Isa Funtua died of cardiac arrest and other complications of old age in a stressful economic period. Isa Funtua was a close allie to another one of Buhari’s good friend and chief of staff, Abba Kyari, who also passed away in 2020 due to COVID-19 health complications. Isa Funtua’s son, Abubakar Ismaila Isa Funtua is married to Buhari’s daughter, Sefinatu.

How Will The Nation Be Affected?

Isa Funtua’s death is a major emotional shock to the president and his team. This is the second closest Allie that Buhari has lost in 2020. Nigerians must pray for strength and wisdom for Buhari to continue his extremely demanding responsibilities amidst emotional turmoil and the effects it can have on old age. President Buhari is currently championing a war against corruption. Most recently, the acting MD of EFCC, Ibrahim Magu was arrested. Also worth nothing, President Buhari has avoided all meetings from Bola Ahmed Tinubu; amidst other actions in his fight against corruption.

After Abba Kyari’s death, politician and business man Isa Funtua was asked if he would take on Kyari’s role as Chief of Staff and he responded “I heard people mentioning my name to replace Abba Kyari but I take the story as an insult instead. I have once worked with the government in the 80s, worked with white men and also was once a Minister of the Federal republic. For someone to mention my name for that position is an insult especially for a man who served as a minister nearly 40 years ago and out of government. I should be employing people now, not trying to struggle for government appointments.”
