Holiday Declared By The Nigerian Government Ahead Of Elections

After millions of Nigerians have sacrificed their time, effort and resources to perform their civic duty, only to be disappointed by the postponement. The Federal government has declared Friday 22 2019, as a public holiday, in preparations for the rescheduled Presidential and National Assembly elections holding on Saturday 23, 2019.

The Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, stated that the work-free day is to enable citizens return to their polling units for the rescheduled Presidential and National Assembly elections. However, those providing services and bankers across the nation are excluded from the break.
