Mamman Daura is a Nigerian journalist and businessman who was an editor of the New Nigerian newspaper and is also a nephew and longtime close associate of President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari. Although Mamman Daura is the nephew of president Buhari, he is said to be older than the Nigerian leader by 2 and a half years and has shared a close relationship of over 73 years with him. Mamman Daura was influential in the government of Buhari between 1984 and 1985. Mamman Daura has previously served in the business hemisphere as board member of Bank of Credit and Commercial International (BCCI) Nigeria and Africa International Bank. Mamman Daura also founded a furniture manufacturing factory in Kaduna State and was Chairman of the now-defunct Nigerian Bank of Commerce and Industry. Today, with his relative as the president of the country, Mamman Daura remains a powerful man in Nigeria.
However, what has often not been reported is how Mamman Daura came to earn so much influence on the president. Mamman Daura is even considered to be even more powerful than the Nigeria leader, due to the fact that he has been playing a significant role throughout the life of Muhammadu Buhari.
