The management of the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) Plc has announced the appointment of Mr Bukar Kyari to its board as an independent non-executive director. The National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) was a self-regulatory organization responsible for the operation and regulation of the NASDAQ stock market and over-the-counter markets.

Mr Kyari holds a B.Sc. degree in Physics from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria. He then bagged an M.Sc. degree in Nuclear Engineering from Oregon State University, USA. Mr Kyari is an alumnus of the Lagos Business School (LBS), Wharton Business School and Harvard Business School, USA.
Bukar Kyari was once the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc, a role he assumed in September 2011. Prior to joining CSCS Plc, Mr Bukar Kyari was the CEO of ValuCard Nigeria Plc (now Unified Payments Plc). His early career years were spent at Hewlett Packard, California, USA. There he grew through the ranks to become the Worldwide Technical Marketing programme Manager before moving back to Nigeria.
On his return to Nigeria, Mr Bukar joined FSB International (Now Fidelity Bank) and served in various roles. His positions included Executive Director, e-Banking and Information Technology and Operations.
Mr Kyari currently serves as the Chairman of Sunu Assurance Plc, a position he has occupied since 2018. Before that, Mr Kyari was the Chairman of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG). Also, he once held the position at Equity Assurance Plc among many others. Furthermore, he is the co-founder of Tran-Sahara Investment Corporation.
He has also been on several boards including Credit Registry Services Plc and the Investment Protection Fund of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).
