Former Senator of Nigeria, David Dafinone was owner of the popular Ceddi Plaza Abuja. Born on March 12, 1927 in Sapele, Delta State, David Dafinone became a senator in Nigeria in 1979; an elected position he held until his tenure expired in 1983 at age 56. Dafinone was a notable accountant who raised 5 other children to become accountants, making his family the first in the Guinness World Book of Records to have the highest number of accountants in any family. He is author of “State of the nation: the future of Nigeria” released in 2001.
Many are speculating that David Dafinone was a Senator in Nigeria up until his death in 2018 at 91 years old but no, he was only he senator for one term in the 1980s. Nigeria did not have a 91 year old senator David Dafinone. He was 56 years old when his senate leadership tenure expired. He since moved on from politics holding only minor positions. While a senator and through his accounting firm, he amassed enough wealth to build Ceddi Shopping Plaza in Abuja which he continued to own until his death on September 30th, 2018. He passed on from old-age-related-illnesses at his home in Apapa, Lagos, Nigeria. He was married to Cynthia Estella Watson, August 21, 1958 and his children are Igho, Ede, Duvie, Daphne, Joy and Elizabeth Oghenorvbo Dafinone from a former Scottish spouse, Joan Helen Mackay, based in the United Kingdom.
