In 2021, A Canadian Judge, Sébastien Grammond, overseeing an asylum-immigration case, referred to the Nigerian Police Force As having a criminal purpose. In her final ruling, she said “The tribunal finds this to be a significant contribution to the criminal purpose of the organisation since he had the knowledge of what could befall the individual subject to investigation.” while attesting that a former SARs officer was complicit to SARs’ criminal activities while he was a SARS employee and thus now ineligible for asylum in Canada.
