Nnamdi Okonkwo is the Managing Director of Fidelity Bank of Nigeria. Fidelity Bank is a top 10 commercial bank in Nigeria founded in 1988. Nnamdi Okonkwo has served as Fidelity bank’s foremost executive officer since 2014. Prior to his executive leadership career with Fidelity Bank, Nnamdi Okonkwo was Chief Operations Officer for Tony Elumelu’s United Bank for Africa (UBA) in Ghana. Corruption charges against Nnamdi Okonkwo surfaced in 2015 after president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, known for his anti corruption stance, took over power from the highly corrupt era of Goodluck Jonathan and Diezani Alison Madueke.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of Nigeria, charged Nnamdi Okonkwo for financial crimes related to Diezani Alison Madueke. Diezani Alison Madueke, Nigeria’s former Minister of Petroleum has been tagged the most corrupt woman in Africa for stealing over $1 Billion from the country through various accomplices. According to EFCC, Nnamdi Okonkwo lead the illegal distribution of about $115 million from Alison Madueke to bribe election officials in 2015, among other crimes. Alison Madueke’s presidential candidate, Goodluck Jonathan, nontheless lost the election despite the millions of dollars illegally pumped into his presidential campaign. Charges against Nnamdi Okonkwo have been ongoing since 2015.
