Pierre Kompany in his 7th decade of life became the first black mayor of Belgium. Pierre Kompany is father to Manchester City’s Captain, Vincent Kompany and Belgian Footballer, Francois Kompany. Pierre Kompany was a politician in Congo before fleeing in 1975 to seek asylum in Belgium. 

His sons congratulated him very heartily. Vincent shared publicly “It’s never happened before, it’s historical, congratulations to my dad.” Pierre Kompany made Belgium his home and was determined to succeed politically in Belgium. He campaigned for the Mayo position and successfully won.
