Usman Dakingari was Governor of Kebbi State of Nigeria for 2 consecutive terms. Usman Dakingari served the state of Kebbi from 2007 to 2015. He was elected under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of Nigeria. In 2018, Usman Dakingari indicated his next ambition is to become a member of the National House of Representatives. Dakingari has a Bachelors Degree in Geography from Ahmadu Bello University Nigeria.
As of December 2018, Usman Dakingari is locked up in Prison by Nigeria’s EFCC. The former governor is facing charges of corruption and financial crimes. Dakingari is accused of stealing and laundering billions of Naira from Kebbi state. Dakingari is one of the many corrupt leaders that received financing from Diezani Alison Madueke to get Goodluck Jonathan re-elected in 2015. Unfortunately, Muhammadu Buhari won the presidential election of 2015. Usman Dakingari misused his leadership position as governor to enrich himself rather than develop Kebbi state.
