The deplorable state of Nigerian universities, concerning lingering strike action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), has stirred major concerns among prospective and enrolled students; and their parents, guardians, or sponsors.

- Rivers State University: Situated in the garden city, Port Harcourt, the institution suspended all ASUU strike activities in 2017, following instructions from the Rivers State government.
