It has been confirmed by INEC that Governor Ibikunle Amosun has won his way back into Nigeria’s National Assembly. The “Career Politician” was formerly a senator for 4 years (2003-2007) before winning his way into the Governor’s House in Ogun State. Ibikunle Amosun served as Governor of Ogun State from 2011 to 2019. He then decided his next step was to go back into the Senate Chambers. There must be something very lucrative about Nigerian politics that isn’t about serving the people. What has Amosun contributed to Nigeria’s overall growth within the past 20 years? Why is he shuffling around political positions? How did he become so wealthy during an era majority of the population got poorer?
Amosun And Ogun State Politics…
Amosun won the Ogun State Central 2019 Senatorial seat with 88,110 votes. The next candidate in line, Titi Oseni of the ADC party, had merely 37,101 votes.
Despite moving on to the Senate Chambers, Amosun has vowed that only he can determine the next Governor of Ogun state. This is a selfish move that calls his Senatorial win into question. Nigerians decide through electoral processes, no man alone decides.
