2018 was a very troubled year for Dino Melaye. The Nigerian Senator was in and out of police custody and legal battles as he struggled to stay politically relevant. Luckily, despite all odds, he picked up the Kogi West Senatorial Ticket for the PDP, one of Nigeria’s top 2 political parties. Dino Melaye Has been a very strong supporter for “Atiku Abubakar for President of Nigeria 2019”.

Within a few days to the February 23rd, 2019 elections, Dino Melaye communicated to the media saying “We in the PDP are ready, we’ve purchased secret cameras and any soldier, police man or paramilitary man who will abuse his oath of office in being used by the APC to unleash terror on Nigerians, we will record you. Maybe some of you have a network problem with God, I have no network problem with God, whenever I call upon him, he answers me and he told me that Atiku will be President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

As of Noon on February 24th, 2019, results dictate that Dino Melaye is in the leading position for Kogi West Senatorial District of Nigeria.

Dino Melaye (PDP): 5, 112 votes
Smart Adeyemi (APC): 3, 658 votes
ADC: 784
SDP: 26 votes
Rejected votes: 336
Total votes: 10, 055
