The most notable ethnic groups in Ogun State are the Ẹgbas, the Ijebus, the Remos, the Egbados, the Aworis, the Eguns, the Ikales, the Ketus, the Ohoris and the Anagos in order of most notable to least known. Above mentioned ethic groups are divided into 3 Senatorial districts namely Ogun Central, Ogun East and Ogun West.
Ogun Central Senatorial District Local Government Areas:
Mostly indigenes of Egba ethnicity.

- Abeokuta south (Ake),
- Ewekoro (Itori),
- Ifo (Ifo),
- Obafemi owode (Owode ẹgba) and
- Odeda (Odeda).
Ogun East Senatorial District Local Government Areas:
Mostly indigenes of Ijebu and Remo ethnicity.

- Ijebu North (Ijebu Igbo),
- Ijebu North East (Attan),
- Ijebu ode (Ijebu ode),
- Ikenne (Ikenne remo),
- Odogbolu (Odogbolu),

Ogun West Senatorial District Local Government Areas:
Mostly indigenes of Yewa ethnicity.
