Which 4 Countries Receive 80% Of All Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) Into Africa?

As Africa continues to clamour for more foreign direct investments (FDI) post COVID-19 Pandemic lockdown, lets take a look at the top 4 Countries gaining the most investments over the last decade. The African Development Bank led by Akinwunmi Adesina, released a report in September 2021 that provided the data for the below analytics.

According to the report “These countries dominate the African portfolio investment market as countries that show the greatest investment in startups generally have higher FDI and are among the few countries able to access the limited portfolio investment on the continent.”

“In fact, Egypt, Nigeria and South Africa ranked as the top three countries on the continent in terms of attracting FDI over the past decade. They also tend to dominate the African portfolio investment market.”
