Ayo Oke is a seasoned business man who hailed from Oyo State Nigeria and spent many years between Nigeria and England. Ayo Oke forayed into Nigerian politics in mid 2000s. In 2013, he was appointed by Nigeria’s President at the time, Goodluck Jonathan, to serve as Director General of Nigeria’s National Intelligence Agency (NIA). NIA is responsible for overseeing data and operations on foreign intelligent and counter-intelligence. Prior to his role as Director General of NIA, Ayo Oke served as
Nigeria’s ambassador to the Commonwealth Secreteriat in London. He is married to Folashade Ayo Oke, with whom he has children.

Ayo Oke held on to his role as Director General of NIA for a couple years, until he was fired by subsequent president, Muhammadu Buhari. He was fired for being a suspect in criminal related charges. Over $43 million was found in an apartment in high-end Ikoyi Lagos, purportedly belonging to Ayo Oke and his wife. Ayo Oke later travelled out of Nigeria and has failed to respond to inquiries from Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. As of March 25th, 2019, He is a wanted criminal in Nigeria.
