Dahiru Mangal is a billionaire oil baron in Nigeria who also operates in the construction industry. He is Chairman and Chief Executive of his company, AFDIN Group, a major oil industry player in Nigeria. Dahiru Mangal also own Max Air, a Nigerian Airline founded in 2008 and resumed domestic operations in 2018. The katsina-born mogul is related to Nigeria’s former president, late Umaru Musa Yar’Adua. His wealth increased significantly while Musa Yar’Adua was president of Nigeria. Dahiru Mangal is one of the most notable investors in Adewale Tinubu’s OandO Oil Company and Sayyu Dantata’s MRS Oil Company.  Dahiru Mangal invested over $100 million into OandO in 2014. In 2017, he filed a petition with Nigeria’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)requesting more oversight around Jubril Adewale Tinubu (JAT)’s financial activities at OandO plc. In a resolution, a peace accord was mediated by Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II (CON), the Emir of Kano and former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria. The peace accord proclaimed Dahiru Mangal a major shareholder in accordance with Nigeria’s Companies and Allied Matters Act, Cap. C20 LFN 2004.
