Dapo Abiodun is another oil billionaire in Nigeria, well-known among the top political and business circles in Nigeria. Dapo Abiodun is the Chief Executive Officer of Heyden Petroleum Nigeria, a company at the forefront of his massive oil wealth. Heyden Petroleum operates across infrastructure industries namely power, energy, and construction. Since striking oil wealth, Dapo Abiodun has been seeking to join the political circle in Nigeria. In 2015, He ran unsuccessfully for a Senatorial seat representing Ogun East, loosing to drug lord Buruji kashamu (Read: All About Buruji Kashamu Being Wanted In The USA).

That same year, the billionaire, Dapo Abiodun, was said to have donated $1 million cash to help Ibikunle Amosun (Read: How Ibikunle Amosun Became A Top 10 Politician In Nigeria) get re-elected as Governor of Ogun State. Dapo Abiodun also distributed tens of millions of Naira to help Ibikunle Amosun’s men get re-elected into Ogun State House of Assembly. In 2018, He proclaimed that his goodwill to Amosun was betrayed as Dapo Abiodun sought to become Governor of Ogun State in 2019 and Ibikunle Amosun blatantly refused to support him, picking another candidate instead (Read: The Undemocratic Way By Which Amosun Seeks To Enforce Next Governor On Ogun State).

Despite his lack of support from Amosun, Dapo Abiodun won the All Progressives party (APC) primary elections and became the party ticket bearer for Ogun State Governorship 2019 by lobbying the Godfathers of the party, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Adams Oshiomhole. An occurrence that eventually caused a significant rift between Ibikunle Amosun and APC.

Dapo Abiodun is a graduate of Georgia State University, Atlanta, with a degree in Accounting. In less career-related matters, in 2017, Dapo Abiodun, unfortunately, lost a son, DJ Olu (Olugbenga) Abiodun, friend of Nigerian singer Davido, to a drug-related death in car, alongside his friend Chime Amaechi. Dapo Abiodun is also one of the men made by Corruption-laden Diezani Alison Madueke. His company Heyden Petroleum received significant financial and legal benefits while Diezani was Nigeria’s minister of petroleum, throwing Dapo Abiodun upwards into a billionaire mogul in Nigeria (Read: The Massive Looting By Diezani and the Other Man she made, Dapo Jojo Balogun). He was appointed Chairman of Depot Owners Association of Nigeria through Heyden Petroleum. He also owns First Power, a power generating company operating in Lagos State.
