These are quite common in Nigeria but finding an institution for performing arts is like finding a needle in a haystack. Lack of interest or lack of initiative?

Neither excuse could hold back founder and CEO, Olamidun Majekodunmi, a young female entrepreneur with a passionate vision.  While schooling in the United States, Olamidun Majekodunmi found her passion for performing arts and gained lots of experience working with children. She mastered modern dance and the likes for over six years and was specially trained to teach. This inspired Olamidun Majekodunmi to open PAS Nigeria so other Nigerians may have the same opportunities she had. PAS offers classes for both children and adults.

PAS has a 3-floor, 5,000 sq feet Creative Center located in the heart of Lekki Phase 1.  After school classes include music and instruments, ballet, drama, hip-hop and afro dance, creative arts, martial arts, and even academic tutoring, and foreign languages. The Creative Center serves as a community center, offering children a place to play and learn at any time.

In celebration of its opening, PAS is offering free classes during their open house week from November 20-24 2018.  PAS welcomes those who would like to learn new skills or brush up on artistic skills to participate with no fee.

“This is only the beginning for us,” Olamidun Majekodunmi says. “Our goal is to develop a full capacity academy for specialized training in the arts and open more creative center hubs around the country.”

The Performing Arts School with its unique Creative Center is surely an innovative, one-of-a-kind institution that breathes more life to Nigeria’s arts and culture sector.
