Raila Odinga is former prime minster of Kenya from 2008 until 2013. Prior to becoming Prime Minister, Odinga was Member of Parliament for Langata from 1992 to 2013. Since 2013, he has served as a leader of the current government’s opposition party. He has 4 children with wife Ida Odinga: Rosemary Odinga, Fidel Odinga, Winnie Odinga and Raila Odinga Jr. Now in his mid 70s, Raila Odinga is one of the top 5 richest men in Kenya. His entire family revolve around Kenyan politics. His brother Oburu Odinga is a well-known senator and former national minister. Patriarch of the Odinga family, Jaramogi Odinga, was first Vice President of Kenya.

  1. Helped mediate the 2010-2011 Political Conflict in Ivory Coast between
    Alassane Dramane Ouattara and Koudou Laurent Gbagbo. Ouattara took over as president of Ivory Coast from Gbagbo in 2010/2011.
  2. He published a honest autobiography “Flame of Freedom” in 2013.
  3. Despite attaining majority of his wealth from politics, he is a known fighter against corruption not only within Kenya. Odinga speaks up against corruption across the ocntinent.
