Who Was Chioma Madubuko? A Tribute To A Great Woman

Chioma Madubuko was a lawyer, corporate executive, mother, wife, leading woman and socialite. A great friend to many, she passed on June 1st, 2020 at Reddington Hospital, Lagos, Nigeria. 2020 has been a tumultuous year for many and more so for people who have lost loved ones. “Chioma Madubuko was a Godmother to me, I knew her closely and dined with her many Sundays when we both lived in Ibadan, Oyo State 1994 – 1997. Decades later, both residing in Lagos State, she was a big support at every event I invited her to – from my children’s birthdays to career-related events. Each time I visited her, I’d leave appreciating her warmth, love and wisdom.” – Olatorera Majekodunmi-Oniru, President, Office of Princess Olatorera Majekodunmi-Oniru

Chioma Madubuko was married to Dr. Macanto Madubuko and left behind 3 children, Ugo, Kachi and Chizoba Madubuko.

As Company Secretary and Legal Advisor at Dangote Group, Chioma Madubuko was career-focused and loyal, dedicating over a decade of her life to the company. Her last position was with Dangote Sugar in Lagos. It came as a surprise that she resigned in January 2020. Rest in power, beautiful woman, mother, leader, friend, wife, mentor. Your legacy carries on through the leaders you advised and the work you invested in.
