Politics In Nigeria: Why Would Adams Oshiomhole Elect Corrupt And Unscholarly Hope Uzodinma As APC Candidate For Governor Of Imo State?

The answer is simple: because Adams Oshiomhole is similarly corrupt and unscholarly. In November 2018, Adams Oshiomhole, Chairman of Nigeria’s All Progressives Congress (APC) Party, to the surprise of many Nigerians, submitted Hope Uzodinma’s name as the official candidate for the APC Party for 2019 governorship elections for Imo state; despite many other more qualifying citizens. Less than a month later, Hope Uzodinma has been arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe airport in Abuja, by the Special Presidential Investigation Panel For The Recovery of Public Property (SPIPRPP).

The SPIPRPP accused Hope Uzodinma of squandering and failing to execute a $12 million contract he was awarded by the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) for a dredging job in Calabar state. Adams Oshiomhole should similarly be under investigation for corruption and he and Hope Uzodinma should not be allowed any further political offices in Nigerian unless they present full evidence of qualifications.
