The award recognizes cities globally that place wellbeing of citizens at the center of urban design, planning, and policies. Under Paul Kagame’s leadership, Rwanda continues to grow as one of Africa’s Best role model countries.

  1. The 1st and 3rd Sundays of every month are car-free days in Kigali to encourage citizens to walk, run, bike and exercise.
  2. The President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, and The Mayor Of Kigali, Marie-Chantal Rwakazina, are very proactive about the health of their citizens.
